Participants in the Terre Haute Community Census are asked, "On a scale of 1-10, how likely are you to recommend a friend or family member attend college in Terre Haute?".
Based on their score, participants are either promoters, detractors, or passives. Zero is the baseline for net promoter score, so any collective number on the graph above 0 is good and any negative number means there's room for improvement. This metric basically measures how Terre Haute students are speaking about our community.
The results show that students are more likely to be promoters than residents. However, there's still room for improvement.
The See You In Terre Haute Community Plan has developed a Reputation Management Strategy to combat this issue. Part of this strategy is the "I <3 TH" Sculpture, which gives college students a chance to show off why they love Terre Haute on social media.
